Prevent Blindness Georgia offers monthy vision screening training sessions for healthcare professionals.

In cooperation with the American Academy of Pediatrics, Prevent Blindness America has developed a manual, Preschool Vision Screening for Healthcare Professionals, along with an accompanying training programto assist healthcare staff members to:

  • Understand the importance of vision screenings and regular professional eye care since one in 20 preschool children has a vision problem.
  • Better recognize signs of vision difficulties and potential eye problems.
  • Implement and conduct the best evidence-based method of vision screening in the primary care office setting.
  • Interpret acuity and stereopsis screening results.

Training sessions are offered at the offices of Prevent Blindness Georgia, West Peachtree at 4th Street in Midtown Atlanta, for a fee of $50 per person.
