Vision Screening Training
Prevent Blindness Georgia offers monthy vision screening training sessions for healthcare professionals.
In cooperation with the American Academy of Pediatrics, Prevent Blindness America has developed a manual, Preschool Vision Screening for Healthcare Professionals, along with an accompanying training programto assist healthcare staff members to:
- Understand the importance of vision screenings and regular professional eye care since one in 20 preschool children has a vision problem.
- Better recognize signs of vision difficulties and potential eye problems.
- Implement and conduct the best evidence-based method of vision screening in the primary care office setting.
- Interpret acuity and stereopsis screening results.
Training sessions are offered at the offices of Prevent Blindness Georgia, West Peachtree at 4th Street in Midtown Atlanta, for a fee of $50 per person. Or we can train your entire staff onsite for a fee of $300 plus mileage. Call 404-266-1548 to schedule a training session or email lirby@pbga.org.
