Training and Certification
Prevent Blindness Georgia offers children’s vision screening training and certification to school nurses, public health nurses, pediatric practices, nursing students, prekindergarten resource workers, and volunteers. Screeners are taught using national standards set forth by Prevent Blindness and the National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health and are based on scientifically sound and valid research.
Three year certifications are offered to students who pass the course.
Classes are scheduled on an as-needed basis and are offered at a small fee. To schedule a training session, please call (404) 266-1548 or email Shavette L. Turner.
Vision Screening Supplies
