Join our Teen Leadership Program and make a real impact in your community – while building skills, confidence, and a brighter future!
About the Teen Leadership Program
Prevent Blindness of Georgia’s Teen Leadership Program is a hands-on, year long initiative that empowers 9th – 12th grade students to develop leadership skills while supporting our mission to preserve sight and prevent blindness. Teens participate in eye health education, community outreach, fundraising efforts, and peer-to-peer advocacy.
By the end of the program, students emerge as changemakers – equipped with public speaking experience, service hours, and a deeper understanding of health equity.
Meet Our Founder: Will Gira
The PBGA Teen Leadership was founded by Will, a passionate advocate for eye health and a dedicated volunteer with Prevent Blindness Georgia. After witnessing firsthand the impact of vision care in underserved communities, Will was inspired to create a space where young people could take action, raise awareness, and make a difference.
For the past several years, he has volunteered with PBGA – supporting vision screenings, leading community outreach, and encouraging peers to get involved. His vision was simple but powerful: to empower fellow teens to become leaders in their own communities while advancing the mission of sight for all.
Thanks to Will’s leadership, the Teen Leadership Program is not only changing lives – it’s helping shape the future of equitable eye care in Georgia.
