Prevent Blindness Georgia began the Vision Outreach program in 2000 as a mobile clinic offering free eye examinations and low cost eyeglasses to indigent, uninsured, and low income adults at their shelters or senior centers. Over the past 15 years, we have provided sight-saving services to thousands of individuals who could have suffered from complications due to aging eye disease if they had not had access to early detection and timely treatment.
We take vision screeners, eye doctors, equipment, and even eyeglasses onsite to agencies across the state in order to identify those with eye disease and refer them for further treatment. To learn about partnering with the Vision Outreach program to provide services at your organization, call DeAndria Nichols, VP of Adult Vision Programs at (404) 266-2895.
We offer monthly appointments for eye exams and eyeglasses for those who financially qualify for our services. Eye exams are free and eyeglasses (both single vision and bifocals) are offered for $30. To schedule an appointment for the next available clinic in Metro Atlanta, call (404) 537-4988.
Due to the dedication and expertise of local ophthalmologists and optometrists, Prevent Blindness Georgia is able to serve thousands across the state each year. We greatly appreciate the eye care professionals who have made it a priority to serve the eye care needs of our Vision Outreach clients!
If you are an optometrist or ophthalmologist who would like to serve our clientele or work at our clinics, please contact DeAndria Nichols at (404) 266-2895.
Licensed opticians may earn $100 by working four hours a day at Prevent Blindness Georgia clinics throughout the state. If interested, please email your resume to DeAndria Nichols, Vice President of Adult Vision Programs. For more information, please call (404) 266-2895.
